James 1:2-8

"2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."

Every Word Important

Every word in the Bible is important, hearing from the Holy Spirit is important.

Those who negate the word of God in favor of human understandings are denying Christ, even making their own desires and interpretations more important than God Himself.

When we deny His Word, pretend it doesn't mean what it says, then we are denying Christ as God, after all, if Christ is God and is the Author of the Bible, then His every word must be important, worthy of notice and obedience.

John 15:9-11 "…9 As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11 I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.…"

Did God lie when He said we should obey His commandments?

A Covenant With Death

Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: – Isaiah 28:14 KJV

Thankfulness is Evident

Nancy T Doty shared this:

Dr. D. James Kennedy in a message on gratitude said this. He said,
An ungrateful person is only one step away from getting their needs met in illegitimate ways.
You’d never be tempted or commit adultery if you were really thankful for your spouse.
You would not be tempted to steal if you were really grateful for what you had.
You would not be envious of others’ talents and abilities if you were grateful for those God has given you.
You would not be proud if you were thankful. You see, pride short circuits thankfulness......

Actions Prove the Heart

Actions are nothing more than the mind fleshing out. Whatever we do in actions was already in the mind before the actions.

In the Presence of My Enemies

Psalm 23:5-6 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."

I like that part about "preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies."

I don't feel bad about pondering that because God told me it was so. There will be justice at the end of all this, we must be encouraged by that.

I'll Pray For You

The term "we are praying for you" or "we are praying for the families" has become a meaningless mantra with the secular community.

I believe it's Satan's way of confusing baby believers and even non-believers into thinking that God works for anyone who claims to pray.

The fact is that God does not hear the prayers of the unsaved. He only hears the prayers of believers and only if they pray in His will.

The unsaved, heathens do pray, they think their mere words have power, as long as they say something, it will come true. This is the power of the mind that Robert Schuller taught as well as Norman Vincent Peale.

Matthew 6:7-8 "7 And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.…"

Psalm 66:18, "If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear."

Proverbs 1:28-29, “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me, 29 Because they hated knowledge, And did not choose the fear of the Lord."

Our culture uses the mantra, "we are praying for you" as a greeting, they probably never really pray, they just say so to be kind.

Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear."

When a country begins using "prayer" as a greeting rather than actually addressing the One True God, we are no longer a country that honors Christ, but a pagan nation with pagan practices.

I would be tempted to respond to an unbeliever who says they will pray for me, with this; "please do not bother to pray, Christ does not hear those who do not belong to Him."

It is hard for me to accept the phrase, "we are praying for you" when it comes from those who do not love God and often are hostile to Him and His principles.

Romans 1:21 "1:21 For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened."

Proverbs 28:9-10 "9 He who turns away his ear from listening to the law, Even his prayer is an abomination. 10 He who leads the upright astray in an evil way Will himself fall into his own pit, But the blameless will inherit good.…"

The only prayer of the unsaved that God will hear is the prayer of repentance to become born again.

Acts 3:19-20
"19 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you,"

Fraternities and Sororities Hot Beds

Fraternities and Sororities serve no good purpose at all for college students. They are hot beds of immorality and arrogance.

Rich spoiled young people ought to be thrown in the pile with everyone else, even chastised for their impertinence and pride.

Romans 12:16 "Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation."

Notice there is a verse and a principle for every situation and attitude in the Word of God.
