His Eyes Are Everywhere

Proverbs 15:2-4
"…2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, But the mouth of fools spouts folly. 3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good. 4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit.…"

Only His Blood Covers Sin

It was the shed blood of the Perfect God that could cover sin for the believer, anything less than that would not have taken away sin. This is why our good works will not keep us saved, they are simply not good enough. Only if we are covered in the blood of Christ will we go to heaven.

Anyone who is working to stay good enough weren't good enough in the first place and cannot stay something they never were in the first place.

If you think you are doing well enough in the keeping of your salvation then perhaps you never trusted Christ and could not have believed Him when He said, "it is finished" while He was on the cross.

The only way to know if you are born again, is if you have stopped trusting in your own good works to keep you saved and begin trusting Him for salvation to begin with. Only He can be good enough to save us and keep us.

It's Not Enough To Know

Many people are content with just knowing someone is available, they are not too concerned about building a life with them.

Why?

Because their lives are all about self, we are nothing more than a security blanket when things get rough. They want the blanket to be there waiting, but have no interest in it when all is well.

So many people treat God this same way! They want Him ready and available when they have a need or something is too big for them to fix, but everyday when things are going their own way, they are happy, in need of nothing they have no interest in God.

They ignore God, even act angry at the mention of His principles. But when disaster strikes, they are the first ones to use "god speak" and run to Him.

Human relationships are like this too. Sadly we pay attention to people because they have something to offer us but have no interest in their wisdom or desires. Even mocking them when they don't meet with our expectations.

God is mocked every day in our culture. Every time believers defend their sin, resist counsel or ignore His love letter, the Bible, to us, we are demeaning Him, often even mocking his principles which is the same as mocking Him.

Galatians 6:6-10 "Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."

He Is Our Rest

Psalm 37:7-9

"Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land."

Ignore Their Manipulation

Never allow evil people to manipulate you into becoming like them.

Fleshly frustration will bring out the worst in the believer if we are not led by the Holy Spirit. The devil who controls wicked people knows our weakness and preys up on them.

When we are in the Word daily, praying for strength to be as we should be before God, then we will not have to "react" to anything that comes against us.

James 1:19
"This you know, my beloved brethren But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;"

2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline."

It is the goal of the devil to bring out the fleshly nature in us, to bring us down to his level, effectively taking away our power through Christ.

John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

Wrong reactions to a provocation comes from fear of being out of control. We need not be in control of everything, we can allow Christ Who lives in us to be in control, He will deal with the devil when he attacks us.

It's All About the Holy Spirit

When we are walking with the Spirit it is like swimming down stream, little to no effort is needed to float along effortlessly.

When we are resisting the Spirit of God it is akin to swimming upstream against the current, it is a fight and exhausting.

John 14:23 "Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

Deuteronomy 5:33 "You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess."

Life will not always be easy for the believer following Christ, but it will always feel safe and confident. The joy never leaves one who walks with Christ, even through emotions with tears, the joy remains strong.
