Don't Throw the Baby Out with the Bathwater......What Does that Mean?

I never know what someone means when they say: "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater."
I think this is often used to encourage people to ignore the bad in something and only speak of the good. The problem with this is that when clean water is tainted with dirty water it is no longer drinkable.
When the gospel has been tainted with some subtle false teaching it leads people to believe the whole message is good.
This is the reason doctrine has become so muddied and blasphemous. There is false teaching about forgiveness without confession that has been floating around since the 70's when Christians began mixing secular psychology with the Bible.
What happened was the secular view became the predominant view causing people to believe no one had to ask those they offended to forgive them anymore. Because there was the false belief that we should forgive without requiring confession of sin, those who harmed someone else felt no need to even be sorrowful over their bad behavior.
Pressure came to bear on the innocent party to forgive when there was no justice in
God said: James 5:16 "16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail."
Relationships cannot be restored and grow to a deeper level when the offender is not sorry they offended. There is trust that is lost and cannot return until the offender is sorry enough to humble themselves over the wrong they did to someone else.
We never should accept the wrong doctrine just because there is some truth in it. Satan always adds a little truth with a lie to confuse those who are undiscerning.
We desire the "PURE milk of the word" not sour milk with impurities in it.
1 Peter 2:2-3 "2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.…"

Trusting in Christ not in Ourselves

Proverbs 3:5-6
"5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight."

When we think we have it all figured out because we have trusted in our own ingenuity then we fail, left standing there wondering what went wrong.

God knows our future, only He can prepare us for whatever is going to happen. We do not need to know the future we need just to trust in Him.

Trusting in Ourselves is Foolishness

In our day of fear some Christians may be preaching that we should stock up for 7 years to be able to survive terrible things. This is terrible advice and based on their own fears.
God tells each one what to do and when to do it even before they know what is going to happen.
It is possible God will tell someone not to store up because they will be forced to move and cannot take it with them. Or a fire will burn it all up anyway. Trusting in ourselves to figure it out is foolish. We must learn to hear from God and just obey when we hear.
Too many Christians are panicking acting as though they have no God that guides them.
Born-again believers can count on God to tell them "what and when" if they are seeking His coucel about everything.
Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Proverbs 3:5-6
"5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight."

Narcissistic Mobbings!

Have you met a narcissistic group in which they tolerate only their own views?
As soon as someone comes in with a Biblical view the group will use "ignoring" and eventually rage to silence anyone who does not think the way they do.
In the Christian family, God commands us to speak truth from the Bible boldly.
Hebrews 3:13 "13But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. "
When the group punishes those who wish to use the Bible for the standard because it does not agree with their worldliness, this is a sign that you have witnessed an entire narcissistic system in which there is a dominant figure who pulls along all the others. The others are enablers more interested in being accepted by the group than they are in God's truth.
When the angry wicked heart carries the day in a group and all the others remain silent, we are witnessing the devil as the controller.
Rage is of the devil, when this happens we know who is behind it.
Revelation 12:12 "For this reason, rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you with great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”
The devil has come into the church and his devils dominate many gatherings today, silencing the godly ones who love the Lord.
People who walk in fear all the time about what is going on in the world are also angry people.
Ephesians 4:29
"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
When we encounter rage because we do not think the way someone else thinks we are encountering a demon. Rational, reasonable people do not rage when there is a disagreement.
When there is rage there is no love. When we encounter continual irritation at the mention of truth, then is when it is time to walk away and pray for those who are consumed with their fear and anger.
Those who walk in the power of the Holy Spirit walk in love, God tells us what love looks like.
Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
1 John 4:8
"Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."
When we see the misuse of scripture to justify sin, we are watching the devil at work.
1 Peter 4:8: Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Ephesians 5:21: "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 1 John 4:8: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
Corinthians 13:13: "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love."
Those who use mocking, intimidation and exclusion as a form of revenge to control others are not walking in love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away."
When we see love we know it instantly, when we see hate we also know that instantly.
When we walk in love we have no need to do revenge, intimidate, mock or control someone else's emotions.
Love is shown in those who walk in the Holy Spirit. The 1 Corinthians passage above clearly shows us what love looks like, we do not have to figure it out, God's judgment is what we repeat, not our own.
May the Lord give us discernment and may we refuse to become like those who rage hoping we will rage back. The devil wants us to become like them, diminishing our Christian witness and walk. Don't let Satan have a foothold by taking the bait.

Why Narcissists Create Enemies

Devil is on the Prowl

The devil is working hard to get believers to take their focus off of Christ and onto the goings-on in the world. If he can get believers to worry and fret about the world he can diminish our witness in it right before Christ comes to take out the church.
These are times when we should be sharing gospel truth with unbelievers, not whether or not the government is doing something foolish. It is the gospel that saves not political views.
If we focus on the world we will be distracting the unbelievers from the gospel message.
If we focus on the world we will be missing the joy and hope God has for us as we yearn for His return for the church.
Luke 21:27-29 "…27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” 29 Then Jesus told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees.…"
Are you "Yearning for His Returning", I sure am!!!!
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord."

Whether it is Love or Hate, We can Discern it!
