How can anyone know what Christ went through and continue to use "grace" as an excuse to keep on sinning all they want.
Grace was given so that we would have an opportunity to be changed by Christ into someone who no longer wants to sin. Grace was not given so we would be free to sin without consequences.
People will go to hell for their sin because they are not forgiven by Christ. They refuse to admit they have sin and they despise Christ for requiring repentance so that they can be cleansed. They do not want to be cleansed.
How can a proclaimed born again Christian take so lightly the cost of sin to our Savior? My only guess is that a non-believer who still loves their sin wants to pretend they are in the family of God while twisting His words to justify their sinfulness.
I fear that many if not most who attend church gatherings today have never been born again. These people wanted to pretend going to a gathering would cause God to protect them from the hard things in life. They wanted a squishy teddy bear kind of God who winks at sin while fulfilling their every desire.
John 12:48
"The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day."
John 3:36
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."
2 Thessalonians 1:8
"In flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus."
What is the obedience to the gospel? Obedience to the gospel is to confess your sinfulness and trust in Christ. He paid the price for sin. When we believe in Him, He then comes in to clean us up. Christ never winks at sin, the Holy Spirit He placed in us grieves at our sin. Why would we be alright with grieving the Holy Spirit. Why would we be alright with a friend or relative thumbing their nose at righteousness.
People perhaps its time to stop making excuses for sin and stand up for righteousness. One day excuses will come back to bite those who make them.
Isaiah 53:3
"He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not."
We cannot claim to love Jesus Christ and flaunt and excuse sin at the same time.
