If you don't want your neck stepped on by an officer of the law, don't commit crimes. If you are falsely accused obey the officers and God will allow it to be sorted out later.
Obeying officers while treating them with respect goes a long way to being treated with respect by them.
Rebellious people will be treated with harshness because they are a danger to those around them. When rebellion against authority is present there is a greater chance the person will become violent, almost a guarantee. Anyone who feels free to fight authority and resist commands has violence in their heart that could emerge at the slightest perceived provocation, it doesn't even have to be real, it can be all in their own minds.
Provocation to the rebellious heart only has to be a harsh word, that's all it takes for the perp to explode in anger, they are unstable in all their ways.
If you don't want to be arrested or slammed to the ground, don't commit crimes. Pretty simple isn't it?!!!!
Smarting off to an officer is clearly disrespect that leads to violence. Those who refuse to be told what to do will become violent when forced to comply.
While there may be some bad cops just because in every profession there are bad people, but I am convinced that most officers want to do their jobs the right way with integrity.
Romans 13:1-7 "13 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;
4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.
5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake.
6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor."
God is pretty clear here, we are not to resist authority. If something unjust is happening then we can believe God has a reason and will make things right eventually.
To born again believers: If you are unjustly accused and are sent to jail preach in the jail. Sing hymns in the jail and trust Christ through all of it.
