Be Careful What You Post

I have some concerns about what believers are posting on facebook.  I saw two pictures recently that were vile, it came up in the newsfeed without warning.  Now I cannot get those pictures our of my mind.  Just because the cartoon is true, does not mean we should post it.

Please consider that when you post something it will influence others.  We don't know who may fall because of it, or whether it will trigger terrible feelings in those who have been abused.

God gave us all we need in the Scriptures, we don't need to see explicit detail of wicked actions to make a point and we definitely don't need pictures whether in cartoon form or photos.

I don't differentiate between cartoons and photos, if they leave an evil and explicit picture in my mind that torment me off and on throughout the day, then I should not be seeing them at all.

Let's be more sensitive to those who would have to battle the images in their mind. If there is any degree of sensitivity to images of filth, then it should not be posted.  If someone can look at the filth without feeling bad about it, then they have been desensitized and should pray to become sensitive once again.

Ephesians 5:12 "for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret."
I understand that this verse speaks of "secrets", however seeing with our eyes vile deeds is very different from knowing that they occur.  There is something far worse about seeing than just knowing.

Luke 11:34 ""The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness."
