The enemy of our soul (the soul of the born-again believer), the devil, wants to keep us focused on our feelings to drive us to ungodly responses to ungodly attacks of others through his bidding. His goal is to cause us to become like our attackers to discredit us and Christ. We must resist becoming like those who attack us knowing where this all comes from, the devil. The people he uses have no excuse but do not realize they are pawns in Satan's hands. They even think they are justified and doing God a favor by persecuting those who come against false doctrine.
John 16:1-3 "1 “I have told you these things so that you will not fall away. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. 3 They will do these things because they have not known the Father or Me."
1 Peter 5:7-9 …"7 Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.
We can expect more attacks the more we speak the truth to unbelievers and other pretenders who say they believe but have little regard for the commands of Christ in His Word.
As we near the end of this church age we will experience more attack and greater isolation without companionship or allies who understand God's principles and enjoy understanding us.
We need not be dismayed by this because God said it would happen and that we will be strong and joyful in the midst of it.
How do we remain joyful? The answer is very simple and yet needs the power of the Holy Spirit to remain Spiritually centered. The answer is to know not to take anything personally, its not about us, the attacks are coming through people who are minions controlled by their emotions and influenced by devils. They are fooled into thinking they are justified in their anger and rudeness.
Matthew 24:42
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come."
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 "14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place.
15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:
16 to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?
17 For we are not like the many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God."
There will be those who say they are Christians who will reject the words of God in favor of the false teachings of the culture of psychology and even worse they will claim to be "Bible believers". We live in a world in which just "saying" something is proof to those who think and act superficially according to their desires and feelings. They will embrace pagan ideas believing they are godly and worse defending them when they have been shown to be wrong.
Because of the testimony of many of you I know, like me, you are watching and waiting for our homegoing very soon. We cannot change the world and its events prophesied by God so we remain fixated on God's promises bringing us joy and peace no matter what anyone else is doing.
1 Corinthians 15:58
"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."
Galatians 6:9
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
James 1:12
"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."
Hallelujah, the devil and his minions cannot harm us Spiritually or emotionally unless we allow it.
