Obey Christ in You not the Culture

We should obey the governing authorities when it does not disobey God. However, there is no command in the Bible to vote, it is a choice our government gave us therefore we can choose to vote or not according to our own conscience.
No one should be pressuring others to vote or not vote because in either case they may be coercing someone to go against their own conscience.
There are people who cannot bring themselves to engage in the world system especially when it requires them to vote against the lesser of two evils.
We do not know what God's plan for this country is in these last days of apostasy. God has removed His hand of protection from this nation because of the proliferation of evil growing exponentially almost daily.
Romans 13:1 "13 Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God."
Often down through history, we see that there was only godly revival when people became so miserable that there was only one place to look for help and that was Christ. If we remain comfortable, getting everything we want without difficulty there is no incentive to trust in Christ.
We have passed the tipping point of evil and out-and-out denial of Christ even in the Christian church as most people who attend these places have compromised most of Scripture in favor of messaging the feelings of the attendees.
Marriage was one of the first principles that was compromised. It was and is the picture of Christ and His church. The union God created in two people who promised themselves to one another was done by Him, a spiritual glue that no man could dissolve. Only God dissolves it at death.
This principle is violated by most people, even if they don't divorce they either promote it or defend it in others. This very important principle is a picture of the union between God and born-again believers. To tolerate without challenge divorce and remarriage is to endorse the adultery of the remarriage. Endorsing sin against God is to be a party to that sin, even if we never do it ourselves.
Mark 10:11-12 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman is guilty of adultery against her."
Ezekiel 3:18-21 "18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing, but his blood I will require from your hand.
19 However if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die for wrongdoing, but you have saved yourself.
20 Again, when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand.
21 However, if you have warned the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself.”
God said clearly too that if a divorce occurs one must remain unmarried because according to Him even though the two people no longer live together the spiritual bond created by God remains.
1 Corinthians 7:10-11 "10 But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife is not to leave her husband 11 (but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband is not to [a]divorce his wife."
Did God lie? NO, HE DID NOT LIE!!!
This is one of the most egregious violations of God's word than most things because it sends the message that what God does in a marriage doesn't matter. Why would we be surprised about homosexual marriage or abortion, they are all the very same attitude of defiance against God based on cultural norms not on the word of God.
Here's the thing!!! Why would we pressure someone to vote against their conscience? And, why would we pressure someone to accept a clear violation of God's word on marriage? These things are accepted and promoted because they meet the cultural standard, not a Biblical one.
God never commanded us to vote nor did He forbid it, therefore it is a choice. However, God did command clearly not to divorce and not to remarry if there is a divorce. Do you see how the culture dictates the beliefs and standards of the modern Christian much more than Biblical truth?
Our modern church pressures people to obey the culture far more than they teach obedience to God's Word.
The Christians of this country want to be comfortable so they work hard at maintaining their freedoms even if it will prevent people from seeing their need for Christ.
May the Biblical Christian who follows the Holy Spirit be at peace in spite of cultural pressure and do as they are led by God to do, not what others think they should do.
My answer about divorce and remarriage is that we should be ready with an answer for a brother or sister who is contemplating violations of God's word, but in the matter of voting if someone is pressuring us to reveal who we are voting for and why, we can say with clarity, God tells me if I should vote and who I vote for is no one's business since our government has provided that it be a secret.
I am frustrated with Christians dividing over the matter of whether or not to vote since the Bible does not clearly command it. While endorsing divorce and remarriage to satisfy their comfort level.
Be at peace, ask the Lord what He wants from you and if necessary don't share with anyone else what He told you to do. Ane, never shrink from boldly speaking the principles of God that defy the cultural norm. God will avenge those who are treated with disrespect and who love Him and His word, not just in word but in deed.
1 Corinthians 2:14: "But the natural man receive not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned".
Amen and Amen!!!
