Words are not Enough

It is important to be clear about something when we write. Sometimes we assume someone else knows what we mean by something, however we could be leading them astray by not being clear enough.

I hear lots of people saying "I believe in the power of prayer", even the seculars are saying these things. But their's something wrong with this saying, Hindus believe in the power of their prayer, so do Muslims, Catholics and Mormons.

God does not hear the prayer of those who do not belong to Him. We live in a culture that believes as long as we say something it's the same as having done it.

John 15:7 “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

If we abide in Christ, then His words abide in us. If we are speaking our own mind, having our own desires, then we need to spend more time seeking Christ for His mind and His desires.

My trust is not in my prayers, it is in Christ. When those who are in cults pray, God does not hear them, because they do not belong to Christ.

Often narcissists use words to convince people of things that are not at all evident in their lives. They attempt to convince us in words because they know they are not what they claim in their lives.

The louder someone proclaims they are a good person or empathetic or kind, the greater possibility that they are attempting to convince others of what is lacking in their lives.

The Pentecostal movement fostered this idea of "speaking into someone's life", indicating that if you speak it, it automatically comes true. It manifests itself in the form of "name it and claim it" or if you wish to mock it, "blab it and grab it."

Our words do nothing, they are thrown into the air and fall to the ground. It is our life that demonstrates what we really believe. When someone claims to be empathetic and then mocks others who are ill, because the narcissists believes ill people are weak and unworthy of respect, then their words about empathy are a lie.

John 10:9-10 "…9 I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness."

Only God's Words have power, man's words are only as true as the actions that back them up.

Proverbs 12:18
"There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."

Matthew 15:18
"But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person."
