Trusting in Christ is our response rather than demanding things of Him. It's His perfect will we want not our own. Also, we might remember that God may have us get sick for His purposes. Being ill reveals our true dedication to Him when we turn even more to Him in hardship. Being well all the time is not the goal, trusting Christ through all things is the goal.
It is also a lack of compassion for believers all over the world who are being persecuted. America thinks foolishly that we deserve to be healthy and wealthy forgetting that most of the countries of the world are going through very hard times. To preach health and wealth as a right is from the devil.
James 1:2-8
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Prosperity preachers are liars and turning people away from God by causing them to distrust God when He has not healed them or made them wealthy.
The world sees the power of God in us more when they see us trusting Him through everything. The believers are not fearful of this new virus. They still have smiles, they still have hope and they still love God.
Job is a good example of one who was in misery. God allowed the devil to test Job and Job proved his loyalty to God through it all.
Sometimes the Lord allows the devil to buffet us not to prove anything to God but so that we can see our real selves in the midst of trials. Trials bring out the real us, either hateful and angry or trusting and joyful.
Psalm 112:1-8
Prosperity of the One Who Fears the Lord.
112 Praise the Lord!
How blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who greatly delights in His commandments.
2 His descendants will be mighty on earth;
The generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
4 Light arises in the darkness for the upright;
He is gracious and compassionate and righteous.
5 It is well with the man who is gracious and lends;
He will maintain his cause in judgment.
6 For he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be remembered forever.
7 He will not fear evil tidings;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is upheld, he will not fear,
Until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.
Here's the thing; we can be steady trusting God even when we have nothing materially or financially. We have been promised food and clothing as believers, the housing is extra. We can praise Him when we have faith no matter what our financial state. Our prosperity is not fleshly it is spiritual. We prosper in wisdom and faith no matter what our financial state.
Shame on prosperity preachers who want people to send them money making them wealthy while promising things they have no right to promise.
God promised us our needs, not all our wants. America has been so spoiled they think they are entitled to anything that comes to their minds. Perhaps the Lord is getting ready to turn our hearts to Him rather than to health and wealth.
Just Saying!
