I have heard many Christians say they believe in the Bible as the word of God but violate more of it than they obey. This is when I say, "actions speak louder than words." Its easy to SAY anything one wants others to believe about them, but to actually live what they believe will cost them friends and even jobs at times.
Matthew 15:7-9 "…7 You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: 8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”…"
God said that all believers will have the fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Those who become easily angered when corrected with the Scripture but call themselves Christian are likely pretenders. They have not been born again.
So many "Christians" these days have adopted the words and some of the lifestyle of the Bible to enhance their own position in the world, but have no fervor for truth. They love to feel superior to others and pretend they are humble but the raging that emerges when challenged to rethink their false doctrine they cannot calmly discuss it, they must intimidate and mock.
Pride is at the root of this pretense and rebellion. These people lack love, they have little joy and there is none of the other qualities that come with the indwelt Holy Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5.
The will say that we lack these things as they project onto us their own attitude. We ought to all be evaluating ourselves to see if we are walking in the Spirit. When the Spirit assures us that we are we can dismiss the false accusation of the devil that are spawned from their mind through the devil's influence.
The devil wants us to fear the opinion of men, that might cause him to be able to silence us. However, when we know this tactic we can remain bold and remove ourselves from those who falsely accuse us.
1 Peter 3:16
"Having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame."
Exodus 23:1
"“You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness."
1 Peter 2:1-12
"So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ..."
The more you walk with Christ the more you will be rejected and accused of things that are not true. Evaluate what is being said, seek the Holy Spirit and when it is proved that you are being falsely accused move on without regret and without returning.
Be sure they will accuse you of what they are doing to divert the attention from their evil attitudes, ignore them.
