Rolling Eyes are Contemptuous Sin

My children used to roll their eyes at me regularly when instructed. When asked to do a job again came the eye-rolling. Did you know eye-rolling is a show of contempt?
When a person feels they cannot outright mock you they refrain from words and do it with their eyes.
If confronted with the contempt they would deny it, as though they don't know what you are talking about. Now the problem, in their mind, is you being "too sensitive" or "making up things that aren't there."
2 Peter 3:3
"Know this first of all, that in the last days' mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,"
Since it is impossible to prove someone rolled their eyes unless there is a camera that caught it, these manipulators can feel that they were not caught in their contempt by simply denying it.
Mockers and liars roll their eyes to show you how foolish you are with "plausible deniability", "who me? what did I do?"
When we see this it might be good to chuckle a little realizing what they are doing is on the level of a bratty five-year-old.
Mark 7:20-23
"And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
Whatever the eyes do on the outside is what is in the heart. Rolling eyes of dismissiveness are contemptuous sin.

The Sin Problem of Silence About Sin!

So many "Christians" I know today are more likely to defend sin than they are to repeat the words of God that expose it.

God Gave us a Brain? What did we do with it?

God gave us brains to think but we perverted it so now those who want to think right must submit to the mind of Christ to think properly.
Those who use the excuse that "God gave us a brain" are declaring that we need to think for ourselves instead of seeking God for His answers.
Instead of saying; "God gave us a brain", it would be better to say; "I want to think with the mind of Christ."
If you are counting on your own "common sense" to figure things out you will be woefully inept, however, if you are thinking with the mind of Christ you will know the right things to do at the right time.
James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"
1 Corinthians 2:15-16 "…15The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. 16“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ."
There is no end to the blessings and wisdom that come from seeking Christ in all matters. Hallelujah!!!

Complaining and Whinning Against the Lord's Mandates

When we whine and complain about the weather we are whining against god. When we complain about the government we are whining against God.
1 Peter 2:13-14
Honor Authority
13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, 14 or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right."
The only times we ignore the authority of government is if they are ordering us to stop preaching the gospel.
We may not like how wicked the government is becoming, but it is God's business. God brings the rulers we deserve and right now we are getting what we deserve, wickedness and corruption.
I cannot see how this country will ever become contrite (crushed) over its sinfulness until it has only one person, Jesus Christ, Who can take them through the hardness that is coming. God is not going to bail out a country that has murdered over 60 million babies, and numerous other horrendous sins without remorse. The only way to survive the mess is to trust in Christ. And, to top it all off the churches as a whole have become apostate, negating the Bible through the "pick-and-choose" mentality of ignoring what they don't like and twisting what they do like to fit their own ideas of righteousness.
We are going to feel the crush of the government in various ways, continuing worse and worse until the church is raptured and the tribulation begins. All that is happening is leading to the most devastating times the world has ever seen until all is destroyed.
No one will be able to stop this by "redress of grievances" or by "voting." The government is beyond wicked now, moving into the realm of demonic, and it was God Who allowed this!!!
It was God Who sent the flood in Noah's day that destroyed all the people on the earth except one family. Notice the people who drowned in the flood were Noah's family. Most of his relatives would not listen. Only those in Noah's immediate family, eight people were saved.
God is going to save one family again, that is the church family who loves Jesus Christ.
Matthew 24:37-39
37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be."
Many warnings are all over the internet now to tell the people that the tribulation is coming, but few are listening.
Christians are more concerned about saving their government and their freedom than they are about sharing Christ with the unsaved world before the tribulation. This just has to say something to us about the depth of Christianity we are living with today.
May the Lord bring to every Christian heart a desire to become closer to Him in obedience than we have ever been before.

Living According to the Principles of the Bible after Salvation

Those who talk too much are self-absorbed, they think every thought is important to others. Often those who talk too much think they know more than everyone else and do not listen to others. They do not learn because they have no capacity to respect those who might be able to add wisdom to their lives.
Proverbs 10:19
"19 When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, But one who restrains his lips is wise."
Hebrews 4:12
"12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to [a]judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
It is better to use far more of God's words than our own.
When we use our words more than God's words we quench the Holy Spirit and are more likely to enter into sin with our own ideas that displease God.
Psalm 119:11
"11 I have treasured Your word in my heart,
So that I may not sin against You."
We speak the most about what we treasure. If we treasure God everything we speak will be peppered with His Word. When we speak our own minds we will disrespect God to preserve our own opinions.
So many "Christians" are using mantras that are not Biblical but think they are Biblical because other Christians use them. Since most do not study their Bibles they are prone to use cultural Christianity based on psychology far more than anything God teaches. Even those who claim to know their Bibles do not learn from it because the Holy Spirit will not engage with the pride they harbor. They choose a few verses they like, often out of context to sound right, but do not obey what they read nor do they reverence His Word above all else.
We have been living in cultural Christianity for decades now in our country. There is a phrase to describe what happens when cultural Christianity rules in families or church gatherings; we call the angst against those who want to use the Bible as the standard "family mobbings", in which the whole group is convinced of an unbiblical way and will come against anyone who wants to use the Bible to explain the truth.
If we are dedicated to the Bible and the Holy Spirit as our teacher and guide we will experience this family mobbing.
The mob will shun us, harshly speak to us to intimidate and gossip against us with others. If they cannot prove we are wrong, and most of the time they don't use the Bible for their evidence, then they will begin to gossip against our character to others in an attempt to influence what others believe about us.
Notice that the gossipers, the whisperers and the stubborn will never come to us to discuss their angst against us.
Those who love the Lord and desire His will in their lives will want to know why we think as we do in a Biblical manner. Kind, loving people never attack others for their views but desire to know why we believe things. They will love the word of God so much that they want to know what God has to say. They want to cleanse from their lives any wrong thinking.
Those who love their cultural Christianity that makes them acceptable to others are not concerned whether or not they are acceptable to God. Why? Because cultural Christianity is always about the mob, not Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16
"“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ."
There are those who would instruct Christ if He were standing right in front of them. They are more invested in their own opinions based on cultural standards than they are in the heart of Christ. They love their cultural knowledge more than they love Christ.
2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,"
Galatians 4:9
"But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?"
2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,"
1 Corinthians 2:14-16
"The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ."
Born-again believers have the mind of Christ, they want what He wants, think the way He thinks and desires to obey, even if they fail they want to confess to be cleansed and continue on to Spiritual growth and holiness. Those who are deeply invested in the culture will not care about what God thinks but will want to be accepted by the world.
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
God cannot be in the presence of sin or ugliness, the reason He cannot be with us if we are without the Holy Spirit, He can only be with those who are indwelt by Christ, God's seal on born-again believers.
Philippians 2:5-11
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,"
Romans 8:9
"You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him."
Anyone can have this amazing special relationship with Jesus Christ merely by confessing their sinfulness and trusting what He did on the cross for mankind. No one will have this relationship without confession and a contrite (crushed) heart over the sin.
It's so easy but to the carnal mind, it can't be good because of how easy it is. To the carnal mind, the idea of admitting sin and submitting to anyone is unthinkable. It is only when the carnal mind comes to the end of their pride and self-will that they can confess to be cleansed and indwelt by Christ.
Even with the promise of love, joy, peace, kindness, self-control if we submit, they cannot submit, because they love their sin, pride and angst more.
This is the very reason I am convinced God is going to destroy this nation or as has been happening, allow it to destroy itself through its own willfulness and pride.
God does not always bring direct punishment, sometimes He allows those who sin to experience the natural consequences of their sin to rebuke them. So many worldly people today have bankrupt and hopeless lives but don't know it.
Revelation 3:16-18 "…16 So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth! 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, white garments so that you may be clothed and your shameful nakedness not exposed, and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.…"
Does it make any sense at all that someone who has been thrown into the sewer would choose to remain there just because the person who comes to the rescue is telling them what they should do to be saved from the filth and the stink? Those who are stubborn will always choose stink over sweet-smelling truth.
Proverbs 13:6-7 "…6 Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness undermines the sinner. 7 One pretends to be rich, but has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth. 8Riches may ransom a man’s life, but a poor man hears no threat.…"
Spiritual poverty is far more devastating than physical poverty. Worldly riches is nothing, it will all burn up someday and anyone who places their trust in it will burn up too.
Proverbs 3:5-6
"5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight."

Life with Animals is a Great Joy

A Sister in Christ shared her adventure riding her horse to the drive-through to get coffee, I loved that little story. Then I shared these little stories about my life with animals.
I was behind a pickup truck with a dog in the back, in a drive-in one time. He pulled up to the window ordered what he wanted and pulled forward for the dog to be at the window, then the server at the window reached out the window with an ice cream cone in their hand and gave it to the dog.
A few years ago I had some physical therapy an hour from our home and took our little dog Sparky. He waited in the car and after the therapy, I stopped at McDonald's to get some chicken nuggets for us and we shared. He loved going to therapy every week.
Then on another occasion, I purchased a mocha with whipping cream, I left the car to put gas in the car and when I came back all the cream was gone from my coffee. Sparky had the cream and I drank the coffee. LOL
I love to watch the animals any time of the day and they love to be with us. They are God's gift to us on this earth.
Proverbs 12:10 "10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are only cruelty."

Apostate Christianity

Denying Christ Through Indifference to His Word

The apostasy in the last day will not just be unbelievers rejecting Christ, it will be those in the church who believe all the right things but do not care about His word, to read it and follow it.
Those who attend church every week but are offended when someone corrects them with Scripture are apostate. We never agree on every single thing, but we do love to obey God and search His Word for His Heart and ways.
We are seeing the "great apostasy" now, in which most people who attend church are what I call "deadpan", completely uninterested in seeking God, but claiming to be "evangelical" as well as "bible believing" but they are neither.
Titus 1:16 "16 They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed."

How Do We Spend Our Time?

I have known people today who spend hours a day pouring over ancestry information to know the names of the people in their past that they have never met while neglecting relationships standing right in front of them.
We do not know much more than what the people in the ancestry book did for a living and where they were born or died. In most cases, they don't know what the heart of their ancestor was like but it seems satisfying enough for them to know their names and a few insignificant details about them.
I am convinced because of God's Word that we are to spend our time building living relationships. It is easy to become all warm and fuzzy over people we have never met and cannot ever know on this earth.
Perhaps the reason people love ancestry is that they are looking to find someone famous to be able to boast about their lineage. It's really amusing because everyone has someone famous in their genealogy, we have too, since there are so many people on the earth today all coming from the original couple, Adam and Eve.
I can prove through the Bible that I am related to every other human being on the earth. It would not be possible for me to be alive today unless the patriarchs of the Bible were not born first.
It might be fun to know some things about our ancestors from time to time, but placing so much effort into discovering it, to the point of neglected relationships of people still alive, seems strange to me. But that's just me, I see purpose in building relationships with people still living and those who love Christ.
There is a lot of fantasy thinking in this world today. People love to ponder in their minds what "could be" even more than they care about the facts. This is because our culture is more invested in "feelings" and "emotions" than they are in reality and relationships.
It is also the reason we have so many who are seeking alternative news sources that spew out lies, their sensationalism is far more titillating than the truth.
Spending our time pouring over ancestry information of dead people and the alternative news sources is safe, there is nothing invested in a living breathing person, no conflicts to resolve, no sacrifice given, and without any desire to engage in the hard work of caring about others.
We live in a culture that wants what it wants when it wants it, the needs of others seem unimportant unless they are glorifying self.
There is only one solution to this mess, which is to confess sinfulness and trust what Christ did for us on the cross. When we do this He changes our heart. All the things that seemed so important to us will fade as we seek Christ with all our hearts.

Do We Really Love God as We Say

There are so many Christians who would say they love God, but never will read His word. If someone told you they love you but never read your letters to them, or read them and never spoke to you about them, then we would believe they don't love us as they say.
Many Christians say they love Christ but do not care what He thinks about their decisions, even defying His Words of the Bible. We cannot know the heart of God or have His mind in us, if we don't read His Word to find all the nuggets of wisdom He has for us.
If you found a letter from your great-great grandfather whom you have never met, you would pour over it like it was a treasure, a man you have never met, never knew and was curious about the way He thought. God sent us His letters compiled in a book for us to read, but they are not treasured as much as that letter from the Grandfather.
Perhaps the problem is that most Christians do not believe that God is our Father and that He gave us those letters dictated to His prophets for us to not only enjoy but to follow.
The evidence that we love Christ is that we want to know Him, read His words for the purpose of obeying Him. When we love Him we know His words are for our good and for His glory.
John 14:15 "15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. "
Many people want to claim to have Christ for the feeling of safety. They want Him available if anything goes wrong and they need Him. They want His advice only when they are in trouble and can't fix it themselves, but will ignore the advice they don't like, that doesn't give them the answer they want.
We have experienced this mentality in parenting. Children act this way, wanting you only when you say what they like to hear but resistant to instruction when it does not suit their desires.
Children will accuse their parents of all kinds of things when all they were attempting to do was help the child learn to trust in Christ for their own benefit and for God's glory.
I remember a young woman who caused trouble all over the house with each sibling before leaving for the day. As she was leaving the house, bounding out the door she would say; "love ya." The "love-ya" was not a language of love but a demonstration of pompous control. She controlled the mood of the household with angst most days, she did not love anyone in the household but wanted to pretend she was a loving person.
It is so very sad to me in these last days that "love-ya" is merely something people say, there is little to no evidence that what they say is true. When we love people we treat them with honor and respect. We enjoy them for their personalities and quirks. They are allowed to be themselves without judgment when it has nothing to do with sin.
Fighting for our right to be first and best is an act of hate. Love happens when we care about the needs and desires of others more than ourselves. This kind of love can only come from Christ in us.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[a] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
Loving people have no desire to control others, they want to help them reach their potential as human beings with the gifts and talents God has given them.
There have been many people in our church culture who interpreted love as forcing people to follow rules God never gave in order to appear godly on the outside and to elevate their parents.
Some parents counted themselves accomplished and righteous if their children glorified them in the eyes of the community. There is no love in this, only selfishness. Children can see the difference between authentic Christlike love and the love that demands them to glorify those who are making the rules.
May our love be that of the Holy Spirit Who lives in us. May it not be only words that make us sound good, but actions and attitudes that glorify God.
1 Corinthians 13
The Excellence of Love
"13 If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.
4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.
5 It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered,
6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7. it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
The two greatest commandments are as follows, they are the foundation for everything in our lives.
Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38 This is the great and foremost commandment.
39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”
We cannot possibly follow the second commandment to love our neighbor if we don't first love God above all else.
