Seek Christ Not Man

When God makes a couple, a man and a woman, one, no man can separate that bond. The connotation in the Scripture, of the bond, is a gluing together, even divorce by a piece of paper according to the law of man cannot dissolve the glue that holds a couple together.

That's why there is such violence in the soul that happens when a couple divorces.

Malachi 2:15-16 "…15"But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth.
16"For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with wrong," says the LORD of hosts. "So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."

Our culture does not understand how serious divorce is in His eyes. It is a violent ripping away that tears at the soul to such an extent that the couple never recover unless there is forgiveness and reconciliation.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 "…10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife."

Our culture treats with flippancy the marriage bond, just as flippanly as it treats child rearing while parents neglect the important teachings of the Word of God to their children.

As a Christian culture we have minimized the Words of God through the twisting of Scripture when it suits us, even denying principles of God to be able to live as we please.

Is it any wonder that most adult children today lack spiritual maturity and discernment?

The Bible has been treated as "the Good Book", but one that our culture does not read nor does it heed when it is read.

I knew of a Catholic woman who did not allow her children to touch the family Bible, it was an icon to be looked at and dusted but never to be opened or discussed in the home.

Since Catholics were taught, as I was that the Bible was not for the common man to read, only the priest should do that, then when the papacy decided the meaning of the Words in the Bible, those words could be interpreted any way they wanted to and the parishioners would believe whatever the priests told them.

This is why values changed over the years, they were interpreted in terms of what the culture was doing rather than what God meant by them. Sadly many "Christians" in the Protestant church are doing the very same thing in various matters.

Mark 7:13 "13 Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so” in many such matters."

If you are a born again believer it is time to get in a quiet place, reflect on what you were taught by man while reading the Word with prayerful heart to understand God's meaning.

Man has always figured out ways to make the masses happy when determining righteousness and it has lead to apostasy. Those who want truth and only truth are most often mocked and demeaned today, as they walk through life lonely and rejected, they experience even what our Lord and the apostles did 2000 years ago.

Shame on those who proclaim falsehood loudly to "appear" righteous, while demonstrating the exact opposite.

Matthew 15:7-9 "…7 You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: 8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”…

Stop all the hypocrisy, seek the Lord in His Word the Bible, and pray for the understanding.

James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"
