Whiny Babies Buck-Up!

"Face a challenge with courage" or "Tackle the Problem Head-on
Anyone who climbs the wall out of frustration for having to stay at home is a whiny baby. I don't mean to be insulting just encouraging everyone to think like adults. The children will see how you act and become like you.

"More is caught than taught." Our children will learn more from our actions than from our words. If parents are whining all the time about their situation then the children will do it too. If the parents are using this time to be productive and spend time with their children the children will get through this happy, healthy and fulfilled.

I say this because it would take a month to spotlessly clean one's home in every room and the blessing of a clean home would be theirs for the months to follow. The children can help with all these home chores, even perhaps liking it.

Everyone has projects they could do! Just sit for a minute over coffee and imagine the things in your house that could be done that don't cost any money.

Re-organizing closets, mending clothes, reorganizing garages. The Lord knows those garages all need tidying and organizing.

We can make this home time productive with a sense that it accomplished something. Perhaps talk over the fence with a neighbor from 20 feet away.

Be available for the elderly in the neighborhood who cannot get out to get groceries. Check on them by phone.

We Americans speak all the time about those things we don't get done because we are running around doing useless things such as attending ball games and going to the movies.

Just think of how much of the Bible we could read and learn about if we spend only one hour each day reading it. If you read one hour a day, that one hour will turn into more than that because it is so interesting.

And, how wonderful that we don't' have to rush through meals or Bible reading or prayer because we have nowhere we have to be. It's amazing how quickly time passes when you are engaged in something fruitful.

There is nothing accomplished by crying about our plight if one could even call it that.

Just look around your home and you will see things you never thought of that could use some sprucing up. Take as long as you like doing it because you are not going anywhere. How wonderful is that to have no time limit on a project.

If we can see this time as a blessing from God we will not be bored nor will we be unproductive.

Ephesians 5:16
"16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil."

Lastly, remember that non-believers will see our reaction to things and wonder why we have so much joy in the middle of all of this. We will have an answer for them, that is Jesus Christ living in us protects us from an emotional meltdown.

We may not be protected from the virus but our soul belongs to Christ and if we have to pass He will take us home. For the born-again believer, passing is not the end, it is the beginning of our life. For the unsaved passing is a horror, the beginning of a life in hell. Dying is frightening for those who do not know Christ, but for the born-again believer dying is our blessing.

Philippians 2:14-16
"14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16 holdings fast the word of life so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain."

1 Peter 3:15 "but sanctify the Lord the Christ in your hearts, and be always prepared to give an answer to everyone that asks you to give an account of the hope that is in you, but with meekness and fear;"

Philippians 1:20-21 "20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have complete boldness, so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. "
