We are seeing much of this in the Christian churches today. Those whom the devil uses to draw us away from the worship of God and dump us into the dark cavern of political and situational thinking. These people work to cause division and fighting, while they love their elevated view of themselves.
These divisive people cannot tolerate those who make God their source of truth. The wicked person wants to be your source of truth, bending the truth, listening to gossip, and seeking their knowledge from ungodly sources. They are not satisfied with believing what they want to believe, they are dedicated to intimidating others into believing them.
These divisive people love conflict more than they seek God. They seek out the latest talk show host to find tidbits of news to take back to the church diverting worship of God encouraging angry complaints about all that is going on in the world.
Romans 16:17-20
"17 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18 For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19 For the report of your obedience has reached everyone; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil. 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet."
Brothers and sisters when I attend a gathering of believers I go for the purpose of sharing God's truth, His wisdom and encouragement to keep on with HIm. I do not attend to hear more filth of the world to discourage those who hear it.
Philippians 4:8
"8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
We must empty our minds of the world when we gather together, cleansing ourselves from its effects in order to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.
Titus 1:15
"To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled."
The things we fill our minds with will be what drives our attitudes and actions. Filling our minds with filth from the world or political corruption will only drive out the thoughts of Christ. This mentality of politics first, pollutes our worship and allows for the devils to work anger in our hearts.
Hebrews 11:6
"But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
Do not encourage those whose mind is trashed with new stories of filthy things and corruption. Ignore them, even rebuke them if the Holy Spirit leads, and never allow yourself to engage with them in their pursuit of angry negative things.
If you are to be angry let it be over defilement of God's house and His worship. And, do not allow that anger to cause you to sin.
Ephesians 4:17-32 "17 So I say this, and affirm in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their minds,
18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecent behavior for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
22 that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
23 and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
24 and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
25 Therefore, ridding yourselves of falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, because we are parts of one another.
26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.
28 The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather he must labor, producing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.
29 Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 All bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice.
32 Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
The present-day news, cult, and mainstream media stories are corrupting many people through the deception on every side. Merely because one attends a church or says a few right things does not mean they are free from the deceptions. We must ask God continually to show us the truth so that we are not caught up in something that will tear down the body of Christ and bring a terrible example of Christ's love to the unsaved.
Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
Yes, many who are Christians are following false news stories, causing division and spreading and promoting fear in the body of Christ. They are disobeying God Who said this:
1 Ephesians 4:29
"Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen."
1 Thessalonians 5:11
"11Therefore encourage and build one another up"
These are commands of God, those who will not obey this are rebellion against God.
