There has been no "reprieve" as some think, there has however been an escalation of end-times prophetic progress. When Christians are looking for personal comfort and freedom they will miss the prophetic signs leading to the antichrist.
I am astounded at how many "Evangelical" prominant preachers have fallen into the deception of "saving this country" as though all the rules about certain things have anything to do with spirituality.
I see no slowing of immoral activity such as porn on the internet or magazines at the supermarket. I see no diminishing of prostitution or proliferation of filth in the movies. I see no exposing of the evils of divorce and remarriage. I see increased arrogance from those who refuse to be corrected or will admit their sin of pride.
This list could have been much longer, but suffice it to say that the only things I see happening have to do with securing the borders and other rules for safety, a good thing but which does not stem the tide of spiritual deadness and intense pride that dominates everything in our culture.
And, worst of all I see an escalation of the false prosperity gospel leading to further spiritual deadness that will lead many to a false hope of salvation. The arrogance in these prosperity groups is so high they have pushed out all love, kindness and empathy for anyone but themselves.
Matthew 7:21-23 "21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"
Our nation is full of superficial stone-hearted false believers who love their pride, legalism, and self-exaltation, so much so that they take more pleasure in elevating themselves than they do in humbling themselves to be changed by Christ.
This mentality of "get it all while you can" has led people to become ruthless, unloving, uncaring, and lacking in empathy toward anyone but themselves.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 "3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these."
This is the state of the modern apostate church, another indication of the progression toward the tribulation. Do not be fooled by the media hype in either direction, both are wrong and both are furthering the cause of the antichrist.
