When the Holy Spirit is leading there is order and truth that no man can create through their rules and traditions.
When we depend on the approval of others continually for acceptance, then we are spiritual pygmys.
When our actions or speech are dictated by what others will think about us or do to us, we have placed our trust in man rather than Christ.
Proverbs 29:25-26 "25 The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted. 26 Many seek the ruler's favor, But justice for man comes from the LORD.…"
When we are dependent on musical manipulation to "feel" close to God, we have made our emotions of happiness the measure of our depth. Our expression of worship through music can be a wonderful thing. When the music stops, does the sense of closeness remain or does it diminish quickly? This is an important measure to discern whether we worshiped in the Spirit or in the flesh.
When we are led by the Holy Spirit, often we will be an outsider, even if there are no blatant forms of disrespect, there will be covert expressions of dishonor toward us. Dismissiveness through silent disapproval is the favored tactic of the superficial believer who is embarrassed by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
May each one of us evaluate ourselves and through prayer seek Christ to discover the truth about ourselves.
We might want to ask God if our tradition has influenced what we do or has Christ Who lives in us directed us?
