The reason we are seeing a monstrous onset of disordered thinking is because the demons have rampped up their efforts to confuse and destroy mankind.
Sadly we are seeing this very same disordered thinking in covert ways among believers. There is a mentality among the main line churches today that it is mean to correct or discipline others.
I was actually told one time by a regular church goer that we should not tell people they are wrong. This woman believed all rebukes and correction should come the way of sermons from the pulpit and from the "pastor."
The one man pastor system has promoted the idea that only the "pastor" can know truth and we should all look to him, he cannot be wrong, after all he went to college.
What makes this mentality so disturbing is that the "pew people" as one preacher calls the pew sitters, reluctant to think for themselves. When a man is elevated above the status of the Holy Spirit the problems and false doctrine take over.
So much of what we have been taught in modern Christendom has not been Biblical, but because the paid educated pastor says they are true they must be so.
The same woman that told me we should not correct others, that's the pastors job, also believed it was alright to worship angels. The Bible clearly tells us not to elevate any man or angels to the level of godhood.
EVERY man/woman of God should be evaluated according to the words of the Bible. If someone is wrong about something we lovingly tell them, their response to the correction is on them, not on the truth teller.
When we are fearful of losing someone to the point of remaining silent to keep friends, then we have idols in our lives. Fear is not of God and truth overrides all friendships. We hope that our friends will enjoy learning and helping us to learn, but when this cannot be the case then we must ask ourselves if this was a real friendship based on truth, or was it superficiality just to be friendly.
I value deeply friends who will challenge me and who will allow me to challenge them. Each one of us has a job to do, that is to place Christ first, tell the truth and listen to learn. If we leave out any one of these things we will not grow spiritually. If we resist in anger to any of these challenges then it is possible we never were born again.
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [a]miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
Evidence of the born again believer is that they love the word, they love to learn and they correct error when it is pointed out to them. I have corrected many things in my life over the years, as should anyone who claims to be a born again believer.
1 Peter 2:1-12
"1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
As Living Stones
4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 For this is contained in Scripture:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone,
And he who believes in [l]Him will not be [m]disappointed.”
7 This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve,"
“The stone which the builders rejected,
This became the very corner stone,”
8 and,
“A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”;
for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed."
"9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
11 Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.
12 Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation."
