The Leading of the Holy Spirit

Anyone who says we must be balanced in any aspect of our Christianity is not understanding the work of the Holy Spirit. They are also adding to scripture since the word "balanced" is no where to be found in the Word of God.

"Balance" is about figuring out what will work in human terms and making sure it has a little of both sides.

God is not balanced He is truth. Truth does not need "balance", it needs the leading of the Holy Spirit.

If someone is constantly attempting to be "balanced" they are not depending on the Holy Spirit. There are some people who hear the Holy Spirit leading but do not trust Him, they must add their traditions or human ideas into what they heard. When this happens it is negating the Holy Spirit entirely.

When the Bible tells us something we should never interpret it in terms of our own understanding or the understanding of the culture around us.

Those who trust the Bible and the Holy Spirit will be hated in our day of apostasy. In fact those who are apostate will argue against the Bible to justify their deviant habits and desires. They do not care about what God says, they only care that they are getting what they want and that they fit into the culture around them.

James 4:4
"4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."

It is spiritual adultery to trust in ourselves or our culture. When we trust these entities more than we trust the Holy Spirit we are lying against the Spirit of God.

Perhaps the reason we see so much spiritual adultery in our day is because most people who claim they are Christians are not born again. These people are invested in cultural Christianity in which the culture take priority over the Word of God.
Colossians 2:21-22
21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22 (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men?"

Most people in churches today interpret the Bible in terms of their culture not according to God's meaning.

Mark 7:12-13
"12 you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother; 13 thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.”

If you want to be in obedience to the Word of God you must be continually asking the Holy Spirit to guide you in all your thoughts and beliefs. When someone does not do this they are in rebellion and wish to think with their own mind in direct disobedience to the Word of God.

1 Corinthians 2:15-16
"15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ."

It is a command to think with the mind of Christ, not a suggestion or one of the options.
