Apostasy Came One Drop At A Time

The age of apostasy did not just morph overnight. It was a gradual chipping away at God's principles within the church gatherings. A little cliche here and one there that remained unchallenged by those who knew better, to keep the peace. Rather than being a peace-maker through correction when there was error, we opted to remain silent to make the baby believer "feel" accepted. Avoiding conflict became our god, rather than Christ who promotes holiness.

We thought remaining silent was the polite thing to do while believing a little error is not a big problem. But every little error leads to erroneous thinking on every level for every situation.

When we believe confession of sin is not necessary for spiritual growth, we do not correct or defend truth, hoping the sin will just sort of dissipate away into the atmosphere, leaving no residue or effect on others in the body.

When sin is ignored to have superficial peace, the sin grows until truth is pushed out entirely in favor of worldly friendliness.

Galatians 5:9 "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump."

There are those that believe they will not be affected by sin in someone else's life, it is simply not true. Every time we ignore sin, we become a little more desensitized to it. We may not participate in the sin itself, but we will never help someone else turn from it and we even become accepting of it ourselves if we are lazy about it long enough. We are of no use to God when we ignore sin.

There are many people in church gatherings who are proud of how accepting of sinning brothers and sisters, they pride themselves as being "tolerant" and "forgiving", when their goal is really to be accepted by everyone and never embarrassed by rejection and mocking.

1 Corinthians 5:6 "Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?"
