I am finding it interesting that so many Christians like Donald Trump for president. He may be a good business man but his personal family life has been one pratfall after another.
I have doubts that he can run an entire country when he is on his third marriage! How can a man who cannot hold a marriage together, hold a country together.
One failed marriage, one might give a pass, thinking that it wasn't all his fault, but two? He had a mistress while married to his first wife, taking the mistress everywhere the family went, putting her up in motels near by.
He divorced his first wife to marry his mistress, He divorced his second wife and later married a third. It is suspected that Trump had a mistress during his second marriage as well. There has been no indication on any level that he was ever repentant for the life that he has lived.
He is a narcissist, someone who marries for his own glory, taking a wife who can enhance his appearance in public and help him grow his wealth.
A man like this cannot be trusted to "keep promises."
My guess is that those who love Trump for president, do so because he speaks about saving their freedom and their money. He brings no great morality to the table, no sense of moral high ground that a believer can get excited about.
I understand that we are not hiring a preacher for president when we vote, but if our only criteria is our own pocket books and freedom to do what we want, then perhaps our perspective is what has caused the mess we have now.
Believers should be concerned about pleasing Christ rather than working to enhance their personal life experience.
1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."
Proverbs 8:17 ""I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me."
Psalm 146:3 "Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation."
