A New Creature In Christ

Those who continue in sin were never born again.

1 John 3:9 "No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

Someone who loves their sin, refuses to repent and fights and argues to defend their sin, is not born again and never has been. A born again believer will agonize over their sin when the fail, the Holy Spirit in them will not allow them to rest until there is confession.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

When Christ changes us into a new creation, we are completely changed, we cannot go back and be the old again. The old has passed away and we have moved from death into life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

If sin could lose us our salvation then that means were must keep working for our salvation , but Christ clearly said it was a free gift and we can do nothing to save ourselves or keep ourselves.

Ephesians 2:1-10 "2 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and [h]that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

The price for sin was the shed blood of an innocent Lamb, how silly to think that we could keep a salvation like that by our meagerly keeping of good works.

Ephesians 1:7 'In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace"

1 Peter 1:17-21 "17 If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth;
18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,
19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
20 For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you
21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God."

Unless we could die for our own sin, which we cannot, then what makes us think we can keep our salvation through or beggarly little meaningless human works?

It took the shedding of blood of a perfect Lamb, we do not fit that category!!!!!
