Nothing can make us lose heaven when we are born again. However we will be judged according to our rewards. There are many who will lose rewards. Why would we lose rewards in heaven if there is no sin for the believer and why would God say He disciplines those He loves if a believer never sinned?
Hebrews 12:5-7 "…5 And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” 7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"
1 Corinthians 3:14-16 "…14 If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames. 16 Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?"
If you are worried about who is pretending and who is saved, just leave that to God He will sort it out in the end. We must preach holiness for the believer because sometimes they disobey the Holy Spirit. And we must preach warning to the unbeliever so they will repent and trust Christ.
God commanded us to speak and to warn, not to figure out who is saved and who is not. However, we will know believers by their fruit, that is the fruit of the Spirit. But because people can fake this fruit, we cannot know perfectly, so we just warn.
Ephesians 4:29-31 "…29 Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice."
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
The fruit of the Spirit are not actions, they are character qualities of Christ. All believers have them, however from time to time we ignore them to follow our flesh. We are trapped in this body of flesh until the Lord takes us home.
Romans 7:23-25 "…23 But I see another law at work in my body, warring against the law of my mind and holding me captive to the law of sin that dwells within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.…"
This is why God told believers to confess their sins to be cleansed, this is an ongoing thing until God takes us home.
1 John 1:9
"9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
James 5:16 "6 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail. "
We must confess our sins to God to be cleansed for each one we discover and we are to confess sin one to another for spiritual growth. When there is no confession of sin there is stagnation and even regression in the Christian walk.
