Confessing Negated in the Modern Church

The longer one refuses to confess sin in their lives the stronger hold that sin has on them. The longer one refuses to confess to God and others the more likely the possibility of regression in the Christian walk.

Often we see people who began strong in their Christian walk, they put all evil out of their lives, ran hard after Christ. After a couple of years they begin to blend in with everyone else who is walking superficially. This is an indication of a pretender or a believer who cared more about fitting into the culture than they did about Christ.

We cannot expect God's blessing or validation when we refuse to do what He has commanded us to do. That is confess to be cleansed.

The psychological belief that one does not have to confess to be forgiven has led to many erroneous actions and attitudes in our culture. It has empowered rebellion and evil. Those who believe others must forgive without the offender expressing regret, has led to an entitlement attitude, "you have to forgive me."

I have actually heard someone I confronted about their sin say to me: "I am not sorry, I did nothing wrong and you have to forgive me." My answer was, "if you believe you did nothing wrong then why would I have to forgive you."

You see, they knew they had done wrong but were too prideful to confess it so they attempted to lay responsibility on me for their lack of repentance.

I will not disobey God by forgiving the unrepentant. I feel no revenge, no bitterness or anger because they will not repent. But if I see there is no change in behavior I will not foolishly extend forgiveness just so the one who is sinning will feel better about their sin

The narcissist is one who cannot love someone who is not perfect, that's why they forgive before repentance. They must feel good about themselves more than they want the offender to discover their need for confession to be cleansed.

Our relationship with Christ must be stronger than any relationship with man on this earth. Most believers are far more worried about being liked and looked up to that they cannot break away from the hold of the culture to obey Christ.

So much psychology is integrated into the modern church that negates the Bible, it is hard to find truth in the modern church.

2 Timothy 3 is a description of the last days apostasy of the church. What an ugly description of those who "have a form of religion" based on psychology but deny God's truth.
