What We Believe Affects Our Rationale

When someone believes there is no need for confession to be forgiven they interpret God's Word differently from what is written in it. The one bringing truth will be judged for not expressing it the way the hearer wants to hear it as an excuse to dismiss WHAT has actually been said.

When someone's belief system is based on feelings, right and wrong will be determined by how someone reacts rather than what is actually said or written down.

When our belief system is based on self, then everything that is written will be interpreted to reflect a sense of entitlement.

When someone who is self oriented reads 1 John 1:9, they will leave out important words to justify their personal desires.

1 John 1:9 says this:
"9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

The self absorbed ones will interpret this verse as saying, "He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins", leaving out the first words that say; "if we confess our sins." This is the way the Bible is read by hearts that have been indoctrinated into psychology and intimidated by the culture around them.

Often we hear "Christ said, 'forgive them for they know not what they do," as though Christ is forgiving the whole world without the necessary believing in Christ and His cleansing of us.

There are many other verses just like this, such as the belief that we are not to judge anyone In this instance three little words are snatched from the context of an entire chapter on judging to justify allowing everyone to do whatever they want without challenge.

Here is what is used in caps and the rest of the passage after thats:

Matthew 7:1-6
Judging Others
7 “DO NOT JUDGE so that you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and [a]by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how [b]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

The passage above does not say not to judge, it says be careful that we do not judge someone for doing what we are also doing, that would be hypocrisy. The passage goes on to explain that when we have made sure our own eye is clear then we can go to our brother with a judgement to help him see what his error is.

Notice too that God says in this passage not to throw our pearls in front of the pigs. In order to know if someone is a pig we must make a judgement based on God's Word. Really the judgments we make are not our own, they are wisdom from God, they are His judgments.

The world is full of apostasy right now, most people do not want truth nor will they listen.

2 Timothy 4:2- "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

When someone has been trained in the ways of the world and psychology they will be very hard to reach for the truth unless the Holy Spirit has spoken in their heart and they are pliable to hear Him.
