If the KJV of the Bible never states within itself that we are to only read the KJV, then no one can assert that as a fact. To say that the KJV is infallible then it would state so within the writings of the prophets. Also, to say the KJV is infallible is adding to the scripture something which is not there.
I thank God that my trust is not in what man has done, but in what Christ told us through His Word translated through the Holy Spirit as we read whatever version He has given us to read.
The Bible has been translated in most languages today and not from a translation but from the original copies. It's what God has given us and we can trust them.
English is spoken only by 1.46 Billion people in the world today and there are 7.9 Billion people in the world today. Only a small number of the people existing on earth could read English. They must have a translation in their own language translated by men of God who are led by the Holy Spirit.
John 16:12-14 "…12 I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it. 13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you."
The Holy Spirit is able to bring the understanding to the believer in any translation presented to them and what we read will glorify God not a translation and not a man.
Our modern Christianity in these last days places more emphasis on what man can do than it does on the Holy Spirit Who is capable of everything the believer needs.
Isaiah 11:2
"The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him--the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and strength, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD."
John 14:26
"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you."
At Pentecost, God allowed those hearing the word to hear it in their own languages spoken to them in the different language of the speaker.
He can do this too in every translation. He can give the understanding to those in their own language the truth better than the words written on a page.
God's Word is powerful, it is not words on a page, it is Jesus Christ the Word living in us Who enlightens what people write. Yes, those prophets who wrote the word didn't understand much of what they wrote because it was future prophecy and yet we understand it now because we are living in the prophetic times they wrote about.
The prophets had visions they wrote down but didn't understand. We can know now what they meant because we are seeing those prophesies come to fulfillment. That is a miracle in our lifetime, to be able to see what the prophets wrote but didn't understand.
There have been times when I thought I wanted to sit for many many hours, days, years, listening to the prophets when we get to heaven. I still think this but I also now think they may want to sit with us and hear how their prophesies were fulfilled and what they looked like in real time.
Bottom Line; trust nothing and no one more than the Holy Spirit!!!! That's it!!!!
