The Lies They Tell to Stave off Guilt

It is amazing!!!

Our Christian culture can twist everything to justify their sin. I have met several people who were grieved at the second divorce after a remarriage but embraced the first divorce from the first wife.

Talk about irrational!!!!

I was once told by a divorced and remarried couple that I should not correct a pastor, only the men should do that. There is no Biblical prohibition for a woman correcting men about the things of the Lord. However, there is a command not to divorce along with the command not to remarry after a divorce.

1 Corinthians 7:9-15
"9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."
10 But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife is not to leave her husband 11 (but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband is not to divorce his wife."

Clearly, God stated that divorce is a sin and so is remarriage. Sometimes people have no control over what their spouse does but they do have control over what they do in obedience to Christ.

Luke 16:17-18 "17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for a single stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law. 18 Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

God could not have been more clear and yet mankind who wishes to defy God but pretend they are obeying will do handsprings to justify what they want to do while twisting scripture, even adding to scripture as well as omitting God's own words to be able to sin without guilt.

Marriage the first time is a picture of Christ and His church, its significance is vitally important to the well-being of the church. When we negate marriage thinking it can be dissolved by man, we are denying the power of Christ to make two people into one and to make a born again believer sealed by the Holy Spirit of Christ.

Mark 10:8-9
"and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

This is a spiritual union that no man can undo. It is permanent until death.
There is an old saying; "when two remarried people get into bed there are four people in the bed."

God said that when we become born again Christ changes us into a new creation and we are sealed with the Holy Spirit forever.

Ephesians 1:13-14
"13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise, 14 who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory."

We cannot undo what Christ did in changing us into a new creation. The butterfly can never go back to being the worm in the cocoon after emerging from it as the butterfly, our example from God in nature.

Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

God makes two people one in marriage and He changes a born again believer into a new creation, it's all Him all the time.

Those who want to pretend they are a Christian on their own say so without being changed by Christ are not saved.

Those who want to pretend they have dissolved a marriage by a piece of paper by the law of the land have not dissolved it, they remain two as one with that first promise. Pretending they have a new marriage does not make it so, it is adultery just as God proclaimed in His word.

If you fight against this oneness principle for salvation and in marriage you fight against Christ Himself.
