Tears are God's gift to us, they relieve stress and cleanse the build-up of pressure over time that we hardly notice. Being controlled most of the time is necessary, however once in a while, we need to release the pressure valve to feel cleansed again.
God is aware of our pressure and our tears and He has no condemnation for it, in fact, it comes from Him as a gift to us.
Psalm 56:8
"8 You have taken account of my wanderings;
Put my tears in Your bottle.
Are they not in Your book?"
Our Lord cried tears at the most stressful time in His life.
Luke 22:44
"44 And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground."
Jesus Christ wept when He was facing His final persecution.
John 11:33-34 " 33 Therefore when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled 34 and He said, “Where have you laid him?” They *said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus wept."
Even our Lord had empathy for a family and their loss.
Lacking empathy is not strength, just the opposite, it is the height of weakness and a deficiency of love.
Next time a narcissist looks down on your tears and empathy just remember Christ, what He went through, and His response to it.
