Narcissists cannot love those who do not elevate them as special. Sadly this means that they have no relationship with God unless He elevates them through constant miracles and special attention superior to the attention He gives to others.
Narcissists will pretend to be a Christian to appear elevated above others but in reality they are in competition with God to be like Him as the devil was in the garden.
Satan is the ultimate narcissist. He hates God for being superior to him. He hates anyone who belongs to God. Narcissists hate all those people who love God and all those people they think are superior to them.
Its not that others try to be superior to the narcissist, its that the narcissist thinks others are superior to them so they must figure out ways to bring down the one they hate.
The name it and claim it crowd evaluate their Christianity based on how many more miracles or greater wealth they have than others. They use God like a puppet on a string to do their bidding.
Those who become "Christian narcissists" are the ones who believe they deserve special consideration. They think God owes them something for paying attention to Him. They use His name like a magic mantra to get whatever they want.
One cannot love anyone, not even God, when people and God are seen as a means to the narcissist end, that is special consideration and praise.
It is not possible for a narcissist to be born again. Everyone has acted badly at times, even with narcissistic attitudes. We know this because we are "desperately wicked" without Christ. It is only through Christ that He can remove these tendencies in us but only if we confess them because we want Him to cleanse us of all evil.
The full blown narcissist will never admit they have a flaw, therefore it is not likely they will ever go to God for healing or cleansing about anything unless they think He will do their bidding because they deserve it.
1 John 1:9
"9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
God will not cleanse a person of any sin unless they can confess it as sin and desire to be changed by God.
Only the humble can look at themselves in truth while self reflecting to discover their need for change.
Psalm 51:16-18 "…16 For You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; You take no pleasure in burnt offerings. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. 18 In Your good pleasure, cause Zion to prosper; build up the walls of Jerusalem.…"
The prayer is that everyone evaluate themselves to see a need for cleansing.
