The Ten Commandments and Prayer in the Government Schools?

There are those who believe the Ten Commandments should be displayed in the government school systems. I have a different take on this practice that may shock Christians.

The sad thing in our culture today is that most people would read the commandments and think they could be saved by following them if no one explained that they are a school master to help people realize they cannot earn their salvation.

If we don't also teach that they must repent and turn to Christ, the ten commandments send a wrong message.

Forcing government schools to institute prayer leaves the door wide open for the mentality that all religions must be incorporated into the prayer model.

We live in godless times in which the government schools have no desire to follow the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ. They are perfectly happy teaching that all religions are equal and that Christ is just another one of the gods of this age.

Matthew 15:8-9 "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules'".

The secular community is fine with teaching good manners and proper decorum according to their own ideas of these things; what they hate is the principles of Christ that expose their sinful natures.

Isaiah 29:13 "The Lord says, "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught".

Mark 7:6-7 "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, But their heart is far from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men".

When the government is deeply invested in accepting all gods, they will not tolerate anyone who says there is only one God Whose Son died for the sins of the world. They deny such a concept as "sin", except their particular sins that they have declared; one of which is speaking the truth of Jesus Christ.

They preach tolerance but are not tolerant of anything coming from Christ.
They preach peace but are hostile toward those who love Christ.

It is not religion they hate, it is Christ that they hate.

Amos 5:21-23 “I hate, I despise your feasts! I cannot stand the stench of your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer Me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; for your peace offerings of fattened cattle I will have no regard. Take away from Me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps."
