Even if no one hears, even if no one responds, even if listeners become angry, even if you have been dismissed as a loony tune, do not let it stop you from sharing the gospel, correcting and rebuking believers and researching truth in God's Word.
The devil likes nothing more than to intimidate God's people into silence. The more he attacks the stronger we must become. We become strong by refusing to make a friendship more important than God's Word.
Do not be intimidated by those who would treat us as though the role God has given us is too small. I once heard a saying many years ago; "nothing is too small when God is in it."
We all have a job to do, the size of that job does not determine our value or the value of the job. Obedience is the key to everything. When we are in the center of God's will, we are where we should be, no matter what anyone else thinks of it.
Never listen to those who think they have a plan for us, it is God's plan for us that counts. God often has us doing what others may not think is worth doing. What others think about our calling or job just does not matter.
When we are pleasing God, in the center of His Will for us, then we can rest peacefully as we carry on in our appointed task.
No one else knows what we should be doing or how much, but Christ knows and He tells us when we ask Him. He sets it up for us, we don't have to figure it out.
We will not be judged on the size of our mission, only on our obedience. Success in God's view is very different from success in man's view.
1 Samuel 16:7 "7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
2 Corinthians 10:5 "5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
One way to discern God's will is if there is no peace in our potential decision. If there is an absence of peace going forward, then we need to stop, pray some more and if there continues to be a check in our spirit that something isn't right, we can be sure God does not want us to do that thing.
Luke 6:46 "46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?"
There is only one Mediator between God and man and that is Christ Jesus, He alone should be telling us what we should be doing. He does that through His Word the Bible, through asking Him in prayer and through circumstances He sends our way. He will never violate His own principles as given in the Bible, if we have prayed, the Holy Spirit compelled us and it is confirmed in the Bible, then we have our answer.
When we are obeying God there will be a peace and even a joy about what we have decided to do.
