Christ is the very essence of His own Word.
Those who say they are "Christians" but fight against the doctrines of the Bible to follow their own cultural ways, are denying Christ no matter what they may say.
Titus 1:15-16 "…15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed."
2 Timothy 3:5
"having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!"
1 John 2:4
"If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
Matthew 15:8-9
‘"These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”
Stop listening to what people claim about themselves and begin watching their lives, this will tell you far more than anything else.
Do they become angry when they are corrected with the Word? Do they seem agitated and embarrassed when the name of Christ is mentioned? Do they act angry when the discussion turns away from worldly things to God's principles?
These attitudes and actions demonstrate a heart that is resistant to Christ no matter what they may say.
Our actions prove our heart!!!
James 2:14-26
Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?"
Our inner heart will be seen in our responses to truth and in our actions about truth.
