Our Hope is in Christ Jesus Alone

Our Hope is in Christ Jesus Alone

How many people do we know who are living together outside of marriage, even having babies before they have committed themselves as husband and wife?

How many people do we know who dishonor their parents not only in their lifestyle but also in their responses to their instruction?

How many people do we know who devalue the wisdom of godly parents to maintain friendship with the world, to be popular or well thought of by their ungodly friends and family?

Isaiah 5:18-20
"Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes;

19 Who say, “Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near And come to pass, that we may know it!”

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"

Little do these sinful and rebellious people know that one day they will give account to the Lord for their resistance to correction and training in righteousness. They do not consider what God thinks of them, but are filled with their own desires, while maligning those who bring the truth.

There was a time when the Lord became weary of His people whining about missing the food in Egypt, even though God had given them all the food that was needed, perfect food, they missed their leeks and their quail.

God finally became full of their complaining and gave them all the quail they could eat, they gorged themselves and then vomited as it rotted in their mouths.

God has given us our "quail" in the form of loose laws on divorce and remarriage, abortion, same sex marriage, entertainment and a multitude of electronic devices. Every form of evil has increased more than we can count because of our indulgent culture. We are the most prosperous nation in the world and the most empty.

Our souls are full of self continually.

Judges 17:6
"In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes."

Sometimes I become saddened that children are no longer satisfied with the simple things of life, they must bury their faces in devices that have no soul and only the responses that the one who operates them wants them to have.

This is clearly the end times, our hope now is not for things to improve on earth but the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must keep our eyes fixed on that to remain expectant and enthusiastic.

Our hope is not in this world, but in the world to come!

Psalm 62:5
"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him."

Titus 2:12-13
"12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,"
