Reject Jezabel and Embrace Nathan

We don't need a Jezabel to pat us on the back telling us how good we are, we need a Nathan who will rebuke and correct us when we are wrong.

It is through challenges from one another that will grow us. We do not want to remain immature and complacent, we want to be growing even if it hurts.

1 Peter 2
"1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord."

Ezekiel 22: 25
"25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in her midst like a roaring lion tearing the prey. They have devoured lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in the midst of her."

Many people have come into the church to distract us from the things of the Lord.

1 Peter 5:7-9 "…7 Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.…"

1 Kings 21 speaks of what happens when we refuse to take the word of the Lord to get something God did not ordain for us. When we defy the Lord to get our way we will suffer the consequences.

The prosperity gospel is training the whole culture to desire whatever their heart wants. Even born again believers are angry when they don't get their way. The doctrine of covetousness has taken captive every American. When we are angry when we can't have our way we are refusing to accept God's will.

Snarking at those who tell the truth is common in our culture today. Rather than being convicted of sinful attitudes, the Christians are raging at truth-tellers without restraint. They demand restraint from the truth-tellers but refuse any restraint for themselves.

Proverbs 29:1
"He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing."

Psalm 81:11-12
“But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels."

John 5:30
“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Seek Christ all the time for everything and you will not go wrong. We might not get everything we want but we will have everything we need.

Hallelujah!!!
