A Steady Gaze on Christ Alone

Do you spend a lot of time in the word of God and prayer? Do you find yourself in conversations frequently in which you do not think like those around you? Perhaps you process information differently from just about everyone?
While others seem to be on the same page with all your friends and family but you are left feeling as though you are the odd duck, because you do not process life the same way, its likely that you evaluate everything according to the word of God.
It is true that most people including Christians are easily influenced by the prevailing wind that surrounds them. The pressure of the culture, friends, and family intimidates them into adopting the thinking of the culture. It takes the strength of the Holy Spirit to rise above cultural pressures to follow Christ.
When we are continually being washed in the Word of God, guided by the Holy Spirit, loving to learn from Him and obeying what you learn, then you will be the one others avoid, reject, and gaslight.
Those who are deeply in the world will be seeing things from a worldly perspective. Their hope their desires and their focus is very different from the one who seeks hard after Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:14
"But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised."
1 Corinthians 2:15-16 "…15 The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. 16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ."
If you want to be discerning and obedient to the Lord then you will have to drown out all the nice of the world by fixing your gaze on Christ alone.
