Shared from MeWe..and from Sarah Preston:
Yesterday, I was trying to quickly put away dishes, when a ceramic bowl slipped out of my hand and fell to the floor. Larry didn't come running, so I quickly scooped the pieces into the trash can before he saw the mess and I had to go through an inquisition on how it happened. When something breaks, I throw it away.
In ancient Japan, when a ceramic bowl broke, they fixed it. They developed a technique called kintsugi, in which the broken pottery is mended with gold dust. Instead of trying to hide the flaws in the broken piece, the gold became a new and beautiful design. as a part of the ceramic.
It was considered more beautiful because it was broken. The craftsmen were so skilled that they could repair even the most destroyed pieces of pottery. Soon they repaired broken pieces China and Korea, and this is incredible.... the pottery was no longer considered Chinese or Korean...once mended with kintsugi, it was forever considered Japanese.
I highly recommend the One who fixed my brokenness to anyone whose life is in pieces. He's famous for repairing broken lives and broken hearts, his name is Jehovah God. He'll do the same for you as he did for me, and the best part is, the repairs are free.
