When we are not obeying God we will regress further into a stubborn mindset. Does any of the following words of God resonate with you?
Jeremiah 7:23-24
"23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you shall walk entirely in the way which I command you, so that it may go well for you.’
We are watching this mentality play out in greater measure every day as we advance toward the tribulation.
Even believers are far too focused on what is going on around them while neglecting the calling and purpose of their life, which is to walk in faith and all the fruit of the Spirit, motivated by God's direction for each of us.
Galatians 5:22-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."
Ignore what others are saying about you, ignore the rampant disrespect and disregard for the ways of God in others and continue on as though you do not see them. They are a distraction to the mandate of the gospel message.
This is the goal of the devil, which is to distract us from Christ to plunge us into despair. We do not despair but it is the goal of the evil one to ruin our faith.
1 Peter 5:8 "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
Those who are alert and discerning will walk in love, steadiness and resolve without wavering. They will know what they see, call it what it is, and remain full of joy anyway because they know the meaning of it all.
Satan can only take away our peace and joy if we allow him to keep us focused on this world.
1 John 2:14-16 "14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world.…"
Romans 12:2
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."
James 4:6-8 "6 But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.…"
