The Shame of the Narcissist

Narcissists will attempt to shame others for doing what is perfectly alright to do, merely to feel superior. The reason is that they must diminish you to elevate themselves.
Christians are being treated this way by the unsaved world and now in this apostate age by "Christians."
When we love Christ and desire to obey His Word His way we will be treated in this way. The hardest thing for a narcissist to do is to hear what does not agree with their elevated view of themselves.
2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts."
1 John 2:15-17 "15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world— the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life— is not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever.…"
We are living in a world now where narcissism is so pervasive that most people do not recognize it as sinful or abnormal. The truth is that when we are around something continually we become complacent, accepting and even endorsing of what God hates.
1 Corinthians 15 "…32 If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus for human motives, what did I gain? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 34 Sober up as you ought, and stop sinning; for some of you are ignorant of God. I say this to your shame.…"
2 Corinthians 6:16-18 "…16 What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.” 17 “Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 18 And: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”…"
When we align ourselves with those who do not walk in God's ways we will eventually abandon God's ways to be accepted by those who do not love Him.
Just something to ponder and pray about!
