As His children, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, the Promise of our secure salvation.
Ephesians 1:13 "13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the promise of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. "
Israel is a picture of the born-again believer. When Israel will be brought back to Christ in the tribulation the entire nation will trust in Christ. They then will be the nation that brings the gospel to the rest of the world. The book of Isaiah prophesies this, a glorious picture of the believer's life before the tribulation. The prophecy shows that God is the same God, has only left Israel for a time and will come back to her at the end of the age.
The tribulation is called the time of Jacob's trouble. Jacob is a reference to Israel. God will discipline Israel one last time to cause her to return to Him. 2/3rds of the people will be destroyed and the remaining 1/3rd will trust in Christ and that is when the 144,000 Jews will take the gospel to the rest of the world, from the 12 tribes of Israel.
We are the ones grafted into Israel not the other way around. Israel was cut off for a time to make them jealous and one day soon they will come back as a nation. The only nation of the world that has ever been or ever will be completely Christian.
Romans 11:11-31
11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? Far from it! But by their wrongdoing salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.
12 Now if their wrongdoing proves to be riches for the world, and their failure, riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fulfillment be!
13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Therefore insofar as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
14 if somehow I may move my own people to jealousy and save some of them.
15 For if their rejection proves to be the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
16 If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are as well.
17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree,
18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”
20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;
21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either.
22 See then the kindness and severity of God: to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; for otherwise you too will be cut off.
23 And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?"
Isaiah 62:4
"4 It will no longer be said to you, "Forsaken," Nor to your land will it any longer be said, "Desolate "; But you will be called, "My delight is in her," And your land, "Married "; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married."
