I have been chastised for attempting to bring people back to the gospel and obedience to the Bible.
They think "I am too heavenly-minded to be any earthly good." What they don't realize is that it is not possible to be used of God unless we are heavenly-minded.
I have even been told I should compromise the gospel for the sake of unity and by former missionaries. This is the state of the apostate churches today.
2 Timothy 4:2-4
…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4. So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.…
The problem is not that people have wrong beliefs about the Bible, we have all had at one time or another. The problem is that those who follow worldly thinking refuse to be corrected. They love their false doctrine and their standing in the group so much they must follow others instead of Christ.
Tradition is a strong taskmaster, it demands that those who step out of the traditions be punished by those who are in bondage to them.
Mark 7:13 "13Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
Those who step outside the traditions taught by men are treated contemptuously and excluded for not following the group-think. Instead of everyone seeking God for truth they are seeking counsel of men and disciplining the one who seeks the counsel of Christ.
Of course this is opposite of what God teaches in His word and the reason the church gatherings have become apostate.
Mark 7:14
"Once again Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, "All of you, listen to Me and understand:"
Galatians 3:24-26 "…24 So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. 26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.…"
1 John 2:27: “As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him”.
The question would be; "what man can teach us better than the Holy Spirit Who lives in us"?
Jeremiah 31:34 (speaking of the church age, a prophesy)
"No longer will each man teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more."
John 6:45
"It is written in the Prophets: 'And they will all be taught by God.' Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me--"
We need to stop trusting what men tell us, especially in these end of the last days, and begin seeking the Holy Spirit. Believe Him when He shows us truth and follow it even if no one else comes with us.
