People are not seeking Christ, asking Him to show them truth. They are merely following what they have been taught in the churches.
When I asked God to open my eyes to see only truth a flood of unbilibcla attitudes and teachings flooded in like a storm because they did not match with the Bible.
They have created a "religion" they are comfortable with and cannot evaluate.
"17 Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.
“And do not touch what is unclean;
And I will welcome you."
It is not a matter of going to the nearest holy person and asking their views when we want the truth. It is a matter of going to prayer seeking Christ and asking questions, many questions about all things. Then God will reveal what the eyes never saw before.
Jermiah 29:12-14 "…12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and places to which I have banished you, declares the LORD. I will restore you to the place from which I sent you into exile.”…"
This was written to Israel but it is also a principle for all of God's people. Many Christians are in bondage to their traditions and the people surrounding them so much so, they cannot see truth. Everything is comfortable but is not truth. The apostate church love their false knowledge and despise those who expose it.
Seeking the truth will bring comfort to the soul but distress to relationships.
Matthew 10:35-37 "…35 For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ 37 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me;…"
Matthew 7:7
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you."
