Narcissists Are Sneaky!

Wonderful news, you do not have to stay in a relationships with a destructive narcissist. Of course I am not speaking about marriage, that is a different matter. In the case of marriage one has to learn how to deal with a narc without violating their Christian principles.

I meet many people who are narcissists, some worse than others, but all are toxic in terms of human relationships. It is impossible to develop a caring, loving and meaningful relationships with someone who flies in the face of every principles of God.

God mentions the narcissist in the Bible. Of course the term Narcissist does not come from the Bible it is the secular term used to describe the condition of humanity in the end days.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 is the description of these destroyers. Sadly, this miserable persona is growing exponentially as we approach the time of the rapture.

"3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.
6 For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,
7 always learning and never able to come to the [e]knowledge of the truth."

Notice in verse 5 God tells us to get away from these people. No where in the Word are we required to remain with those who are destructive in relationships, in the hope that our influence will make a difference. These are the kind of people who cannot be reached by man, God must do it without us.

The seculars will say that narcissists cannot change and that they get worse as they age, this is true.......without Christ. However if there is the tiniest chink in their narcissistic armor God can get through, it is not likely nor is it common but there are stories of people who were once full blown narcs who became born again and will speak about it. There is hope for the narc, but not through reasoning with him, words or spending time with them, they must be left to God without us.

I am going to post an article that describes the condition and thinking of the narcissist, it may open the floodgates of understanding for those who have known something was not right but couldn't put their finger on the problem. They just knew they sensed an aggression and counterfeit love, that feigned kindness but really left you feeling flat as though you were just "punked", tricked into believing something that was exactly the opposite. Contempt is well hidden with the narc until we clearly say no to them or correct them in any way, then the real them emerges.
