Do Not Judge Depression

Those who base their judgements against us on whether or not we have depression are lacking in empathy and kindness. They have a far too elevated view of their own spirituality.

I would like to say here that depression does not define who we are or our spiritual walk. It can be a sign of sin but not always, our bodies are fleshly and fallen, it misfires often, that includes our emotions.

In these final days of apostasy believers will be hit with sadness because of loneliness,... while living godly lives honoring Him. The problem of depression is fleshly, we are spiritual.

Romans 7:15-120 "15 For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.
16 But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that the Law is good.
17 So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
19 For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.
20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me."

If we are in the Holy Spirit as believers, we will ask ourselves if there is sin that is causing depression, however I think as believers we will already know if sin is doing it. When we are walking with the Lord and depression or sadness hits, it is not an indication of our walk with God, but more a body that is malfunctioning or the result of the evil we see around us.

Anyone who can live in this world as a believer and be unaffected by the rampant debauchery all around them, is in my humble opinion, lacking empathy without understanding the gravity of sin. They may also have no concern for the lost. When we understand the sinfulness of sin, coupled with the fact that many people we know are on their way to hell, it would be impossible to ignore this. Going our merry way enjoying ourselves is an indication of someone who does not love God's way and perhaps has never been born again.

Indifference is a form of demonic hatred.

Isaiah 42:20 "You have seen many things, but you do not observe them; Your ears are open, but none hears. "

Matthew 13:15 "FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.' "
