In a good and godly relationship there is logic and reason used in discussions where there is disagreement or injury.
In manipulative and destructive relationships there are threats and guilting to control others.
Which kind of relationship do we want?
Proverbs 18:24 "…23 The poor man utters supplications, But the rich man answers roughly. 24 A man of too many friends comes to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."
Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity."
God does not require us to be friends with everyone, we must choose our close companions wisely, they have the power to influence how we respond to life.
1 Corinthians 15:33-34 "33 Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals." 34 Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame."
