Satan has been using this tactic before the throne of grace every day accusing believers. It will never work, Christ is our advocate, but the devil will try anyway.
The narcissist see everything in black and white, they cannot tolerate evaluation of events, because those involved are either all perfect or all wrong, depending on who elevates them.
When we love Christ and people we will see everything in honesty. We will see the good and bad in everyone, but never treat them with contempt because they are not perfect.
The narcissist feels justified in treating shamefully anyone who disagrees with them, dares to have their own thoughts and values and worse yet, those who are brazen enough to actually correct wrong thinking based on the Bible.
As we see these things growing, we need to be learning how to avoid these people, how to refrain from responding to their attempts at angering us and allow them to be them.
Our anger toward the narcissist does nothing, it does not change them, it doesn't validate us, it is merely the trick of the devil to discredit our Christianity.
Never allow the narcissist's tactics to manipulate our feelings and our responses. The more we realize their rages or sulks are not about us at all, they are tactics to intimidate and cause false guilt.
The Devil is using the mouths of people who have no defenses against him, they are pawns in his scheme to denigrate the believer. We can pray for these people, but we do not keep them as companions, they can do much damage to us and others in our circle of friends.
Thankfully the Devil has no control over us when we are submitted to Christ.
Bitterness toward the narcissist does nothing except shoot ourselves in the head. It does not change them, it doesn't make us more in control, actually just the opposite. The more bitter and angry we become the less in control we are of our own being.
This is the secret to dealing with those who are ruled and controlled by the devil, that is that we do no revenge, we remove ourselves when possible and we pray for the Lord to work in their lives, as well as praying that the Lord will protect us from wrong thinking and bad attitudes.
