Know the Enemy

Proverbs 13:10
"Where there is strife there is pride."

There are those who love to fight and argue, its food for them, sustenance that they cannot live without.

This is the reason we see so much anger and violence in the liberal ranks today. They are continually causing unnecessary trouble while accusing others of what they are doing and the others are not. We see an angst that goes beyond normal irritation, it has risen to the level of completely irrational aggravation over the silliest things.

We must not answer these kind of people. We must remove ourselves from them. They are fed by any response at all from us. Silence has more power than any answer.

We reward prideful people who are full of strife by remaining in their lives. We cannot be companions with those who cause trouble and expect it produce anything good in them or you. The people that live to cause strife will not hear anything reasonable, offering it to them is the same as throwing pearls in front of swine.

Matthew 7:6
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

Proverbs 29:22
"A man of wrath stirs up strife, and one given to anger causes much transgression."

Ecclesiastes 7:9 "…8 The end of a matter is better than the beginning, and a patient spirit is better than a proud one. 9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger settles in the lap of a fool. "

Proverbs 23:9 "9 Do not speak to a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words."

Why so much talk about how to handle difficult people, you might ask?

The answer is simple, we are living in difficult times as 2 Timothy 3 tells us. There is a growing number of people who are selfish, angry and vengeful, we must learn from God's word how to deal with them.

If we are unaware of the reason for the attacks against us we will capitulate to the manipulator. The liar and the controller will have undo power over our emotions and even our reactions unless we are full of the Holy Spirit and intimately know His Word. When we know the enemy they have no power over us.
