The Sinner is Convicted

The commandments of God were given to convict the sinner of their sin.

Romans 7:7 "7 What then shall we say? Is the Law sin? Absolutely not! Indeed, I would not have been mindful of sin if not for the Law. For I would not have been aware of coveting if the Law had not said, “Do not covet.” "

As born again believers we do not "follow" that which is a part of our being.

Hebrews 10:15-17 "…15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First He says: 16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My Laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.” 17 Then He adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”…"

If you are still attempting to "follow" the Law of God then Christ does not dwell in you.

If you have Christ in you, you also have the Law in you. This Law convicts the unsaved of their sin when they are in our presence. One doesn't even have to say a word for the unbeliever to feel uncomfortable when we are in the room.
