Lot and Noah probably... tongue in cheek......didn't have any safe people other than their immediate families.
2 Timothy 3:1-5, "Perilous" times as described in this passage actually means "ragingly insane" times. We are there now, the challenge is to become the person we should be no matter what others are doing.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 2
“Difficult Times Will Come”
1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these."
Then there will be many in the church who will attend every week but will no longer endure truth.
1 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.…"
Brothers and Sisters, we know this will be the condition of the world and our own experience in our families and communities, therefore we do not have to take it personally. We can remain strong, confident and resolute in carrying out the job God has for us without fear.
1 John 4:18
"18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear [a]involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love."
Romans 8:15
"For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"
1 John 4:12
"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us."
When Christ is our focus nothing man can do will diminish our faith, our love or our confidence.
