The Evidence of a Born Again Believer

When we understand the union of a man and a woman as being a work of God then we can also understand the work of God in our salvation.

When God makes two people one in marriage it is a spiritual glue, a union that man cannot dissolve.

When God makes us a new creation indwelt by the Holy Spirit no man can undo what God has done.

When we make the choice to trust Christ He does all the work in us, nothing of ourselves saves us or keeps us.

Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Ephesians 1:13-14
"13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory."

Just as the seal of salvation cannot be unsealed so also the seal of a marriage in oneness cannot be unsealed.

We do not preserve our salvation and we do not preserve our marriages, these unions have been preserved by God, no man can dissolve anything that God has done.

This is important, all we do is believe in Christ, what He did on the cross for us, to pay for our sins and He does all the work in us.

All we do in marriage is to make the vow before God, which is done by believers and unbelievers alike, and He does the work of melding the two spirits into one.

Going to the state to dissolve the union does nothing to undo what God did. It merely makes up a piece of paper to pretend the union is dissolved, but it is merely an illusion to satisfy those who want to disobediently remarry.

All remarriage after divorce is adultery.

Matthew 19:4-6
"Haven't you read that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh?" So they are no longer two but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate"

The word "let in that last verse is an old English word that leads us to believe its a command not to separate, but the Holy Spirit clearly told me it is not a command, it is a fact that no man can undo what God has done. Often the old English conveys ideas based on words that have changed to mean the opposite in modern times.

Just as God said; "those who endure to the end shall be saved" has been misinterpreted to mean that it is a command to endure, when the real meaning is that all believers will endure to the end. The enduring to the end is the evidence that the one was born again all along.

Those who do not endure to the end were never saved, that's the proof.

John 14:15 "15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments."

Malachi 2:16 "For I hate divorce!" says the LORD, the God of Israel. "To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,*" says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. "So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife."

God still hates divorce and all the other things He commanded remain in place. Following His commands do not save us, but if we are born again we will love His commands living a lifestyle that demonstrates this. When we fail temporarily we will hate it, confess to be cleansed from it and continue to learn from it while growing in holiness.

The born again believer is constantly growing and changing to be more Christ like. We are all at different stages but all are growing.

Some believers are stubborn and grow more slowly, even stagnating to such a degree as to regress in their walk. These might be believers but they also might be pretenders as shown in Matthew 7:21-23.

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"

Notice the words in verse 23, "I NEVER KNEW YOU", these people will do miracles in His name, even living lives everyone would think is godly. But their heart was all about themselves and their appearance rather than ever having trusted Christ.

Some born again believers have so little fruit they have been saved but trusted Christ only for salvation and nothing else, here's what God says about them:

1 Corinthians 3:14-16 "…14 If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames. 16 Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?…"

It is wise for those who think they are saved but disobeying the Word of God frequently to ask God if they have ever been born again. God said that many will think they are saved but are not, that many means most.

We live in a world in which people are convinced all they have to do is say things and that means those things are true, there never has to be actual evidence or proof. The transgender mentality is of this sort, if they say they are a different gender all they have to do is mutate themselves to appear what they want to be. The truth remains they are not what they say, they only pretend to be.

This is true of pretenders in the church, they pretend to love God but deny His principles in the Word, even fighting to defend their sin as though their words of allegiance are of any worth at all.

Matthew 15:8-9 " 8‘ These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”…"

Only about 7% of communication is words, everything else has to do with actions.

If you say you love Christ and lives as though you have no regard for His principles and commands, then you are lying.

If you say you love Christ and act embarrassed at the mention of the name of Jesus Christ then you are lying.

1 John 2:3-5 "…3 By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4 If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him:…"

1 John 3:13-15 "…13 So do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. 15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer.…"

It has been my experience that the Spirit in one person bears witness with the Spirit of God in someone else. Those who love Christ and in truth have an immediate connection with other believers. When we meet someone who claims to be a Christian but are irritated and angry with other believers are clearly not born again. The Spirit of God in one person cheers at the Spirit of God in another believer.

Romans 8:15-17 "…15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.…"

I have met many people who say they are Christians when asked but would never offer the information. These people often have no sense of connection with the Spirit of God in me, in fact they seem strained in fear as we visit. Not because of anything I am saying but because the Holy Spirit in me is convicting them of their sin without me saying a word.

John 16:7-9 "…7 But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me. "

When you meet another Christian who is agitated at you all the time for nothing, we are probably witnessing someone who is a pretender. Born again believers connect with one another in love without any words being exchanged.

John 13:35
"35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Remember this passage!!!!!!
1 John 3:13-14 "…13 So do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death."
