The Wise Man and the Fool
A wise person will hear a rebuke and change their behavior, but a fool will rage at a rebuke and become worse than he was before. Perhaps the fools progression is worse because he is so stubborn he sets out to prove himself more powerful. The wise person desires to continue in spiritual growth for holiness.
Just a thought! The point being that the way a person responds to a rebuke very often reveals their character without them even knowing it.

2 Timothy 3:10–4:4
